Red Sox Revive Bats

Dustin Pedroia set the tone for the Boston Red Sox' offense early, as he launched a solo home run in the first inning. After a week marked by severe offensive struggles, the Boston bats broke out of their slumps, as every hitter in the lineup enjoyed at least one hit. The newest member of the Sox, Adam LaRoche, went 2-4. Pitching for the Sox was Josh Beckett, and he pitched extremely well, giving up just three runs over 7+ innings of work. Beckett struck out 10 while only walking one.

Jacoby Ellsbury had been struggling after being put in the leadoff spot in the lineup, but seems to have found a rhythm, as he is now 7 of his last 14. J.D. Drew seems to be putting together some solid at-bats as well, as he is 3 for his last 7.

It seemed like after the All-Star Break, the Sox' offense had fallen asleep, but they have now woken up with a vengeance.
